homemaker

Homemaker is a post-feminist/post-colonial farcical sreendance which questions the lingering demands on women to “keep house”. This piece studies non-traditional gender roles through the lens of the camera. Tension between bodies, bodies and the architectural frame, the wooded space outside and the framed out interiors is palpable.

In addition, homemaker studies the multiplicity of images, as well as the manipulation of space. The dancer, multiplied on the screen represents the sense of multi-tasking, never-ending-task of house-holding activities. The music is an original sound scape created to enhance the overall experience of immersion.
